The founding partner of Edwards Solicitors has been in practice as a general practitioner in Melton Mowbray since 1998. Having studied law at university in London and solicitors finals at Guildford, for nearly 30 years he has worked as a solicitor in London, as well as various locations in the Midlands, including Leicester and Nottingham, and attended Magistrate Courts, Tribunals, County Courts and High Courts as an advocate in both criminal and civil cases. Edward is the senior partner of the firm and continues to specialise in civil court work and dispute resolution; this work is in both contract and commercial disputes and landlord and tenant matters.

As a high street practitioner, he also heads the private client department, dealing with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, the Administration of Estates including obtaining Probate, dealing with tax affairs and trusts. Having been in general practice for so many years, since qualifying as a solicitor, Edward has a broad knowledge of most areas of law.

Edward speaks the Polish language and can assist Polish speaking clients in various matters.

Edward enjoys spending his spare time gardening and has an interest in history, thereby reading various books and articles, and visiting historical places.

Alison is a Partner since January 2023 and head of our conveyancing department. Alison can assist with sale, purchase, re-mortgage, transfer and right to buy transactions. She has worked in conveyancing, apart from breaks to acquire her legal qualifications, since 2003 and is well versed in all aspects of property transactions. She is dedicated to helping people move into their new homes, sell a beloved family home, or assisting you with your financial investment in property. Alison holds a degree in Law 1st Class (Hons) from the University of Hull, LLM from the University of Northampton, Bar Professional Training Certificate from BPP Leeds and Legal Practicing Certificate from BPP Birmingham.

During her spare time, Alison likes travel, reading, watching Formula 1 and going to her local pub.

Qualified as a solicitor in 1971 and has been working in Melton Mowbray to date. As a solicitor, Howard has carried out: regular police prosecutions, prior to the creation of the CPS; regional prosecutor for Health and Safety Executive Agricultural division; ad hoc prosecutions for DHSS; Clerk of two Divisions of Tax Commissioners for a period of circa 25 years; all aspects of civil litigation in the High Court and County Court, especially personal injury claims, acting for claimants and sometimes insurers; representation and advocacy in Tribunal – Employment, Land, Rent, Rate Appeals, Pension Ombudsman, Mental Health and Planning appeals. Representation at disciplinary hearings: RFU, Cricket Club, Jockey Club and Charity Commission applications.
In recent years, Howard has worked in the following areas: All aspects of family law, divorce, children cases; Probate – Will writing, trusts, administration of estates;  Criminal law defence work and advocacy in all cases.

Gray studied law at university in London and solicitors finals in London; thereafter Gray worked in London, Merseyside, and throughout the Midlands and was a Partner at Edwards Solicitors from 2004, before becoming a consultant in January 2023.

Gray has worked in general practice for many years and has had experience in various areas of law.

For nearly 50 years, Gray has specialised predominantly in all types of property transactions, both commercial and residential. Gray is an extremely experienced commercial and property solicitor, being able to tackle the most difficult transactions. Gray also specialises in areas of private client work, to include Will writing, setting up trusts and powers of attorney and the administration of estates.

Gray is a lifelong Liverpool fan, an avid tennis player and he enjoys spending time with his family.
